Class Experience

*****PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: This class uses Minecraft Java and mods that make bedrock not compatible with this class.

Welcome to Minecraft and the mystery of the floating obsidian fortress. How did it get there? Who lives and manages the fortress? What is it's purpose?

In this class, students will work and play together to survive and thrive in the vast world. Students will be given challenges, tasks, projects and events that yield rewards. These scenarios will require that they work together and delegate tasks to meet strict time constraints. Communication and coordination will be key. All of this in an ever evolving world that is heavily influenced by the students. These evolutions are geared towards perfectly matching how the students enjoy playing the game.

The class will start out each day with a communication. Some examples might be story development, possible tasks/quests that will come up during the session and other important information that may need to be communicated about the session. The majority of class time will be spent in the game/world managing the objectives given to the students. An example might be, you must construct a granary to produce food for you. This granary will have to meet certain specifications which will be detailed prior to entering the world in order to be constructed (i.e. 8x11x9). However, the students may build it however they imagine.

This class will be very energetic and engaging with each member (student/teacher). I will sometimes take of a role that will indicate an event is starting/progressing, The mayor of the Outerwilds.

No experience is required, but some knowledge of how the game works is a big perk. The learning curve is low for Minecraft.

**note: village refers to the students/players/class**

Week 4: Date of 8/119

Can you solve the mystery? Will you survive the harsh and unpredictable world?

I look forward to going on this journey with you.

Note: The video attached to this listing is an example of the upgrade system developed. The higher the project gets upgraded, the better the production will be.
