This June, in honor of Pride Month we will cover the one of the more recent cases handed down by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court in Bostock v. Clayton County found that an employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The goal each month is to expose students to different Supreme Court Decisions and understand how the Court influences the laws that govern our lives.
I have both my Masters in Social Work and my law degree which equips me with the skills to facilitate this conversation. Additionally I have taught middle school and high school academic classes and facilitated social emotional groups.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
