Description
Class Experience
Academic Goals: Students will review and write a five sentence persuasive paragraph. Students will also review and apply the writing process. Life Skill Goals: Students will practice meeting a deadline, following verbal and written instructions, and being courteous in group participation.
I've taught writing to students in elementary, middle school, high school, and college.
Students have one assignment. They are to finish the paragraph they planned in class by completing the planning brainstorm, rough draft, and initial revision. These steps are usually completed in the class. Students who wish proofreading feedback from the teacher should submit a final draft to her through the Outschool interface within 24 hours of the class. The student will receive encouraging feedback through Outschool within 24 hours.
Students should come to class with pen/pencil and notebook paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students who submit a paragraph to the teacher within 24 hours will receive an informal assessment.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
