US Grade 3 - 4
This class has been designed primarily for those who have taken "The Superhero Paragraph Creative Writing Class." However, the previous class is not a requirement. Parents should be aware though that other students may already know each other and do know Ms. Amy. Students will practice the writing process while writing a traditional five sentence paragraph. Students will get to know each other and Ms. Amy as she leads them through how to plan, draft, revise, and publish a well-written superhero-themed paragraph. While this particular paragraph is opinion writing, the writing process and paragraph structure practiced would apply to all types of paragraphs -- creative, informative, instructional, etc. Students wanting personal proofreading feedback for their finished paragraph need to submit their final draft to Ms. Amy through the Outschool interface within 24 hours of class time. Encouraging feedback will be received within 24 hours. Students will also be encouraged to share their developing work within the class time and through the classroom chat. Ms. Amy will use a short lecture, Power Point slide show, Q and A, and example paragraph to teach the class. If time allows, Ms. Amy and the students will also write a paragraph as a group. Prior paragraph structure and writing process knowledge is helpful, but not required. Students are encouraged to ask questions and participate with the group in any discussions. This paragraph writing class focuses on a one-time opinion writing assignment. Look for other paragraph classes from Ms. Amy to further practice this core foundational writing format.
