Learn a Ballet Dance to 'The Sugar Plum Fairy' from 'The Nutcracker' to perform to your family.
Class experience
This class is aimed at children aged 5-7 years with a little experience in Ballet. Learners are encouraged to wear fairy dresses/ballet outfits/tutu to the class but this is not a requirement. Please bring a wand(or something that can be used as a wand) to the class to use as a prop for the dance. Students will learn a short Ballet Dance to 'The Sugar Plum Fairy' from 'The Nutcracker' to perform at the end of the class.
I have been teaching dance for over 25 years. I am a qualified professional dance teacher holding my Ballet Teaching certificate with the NCDTA (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association in the UK). I have taught all ages of ballet from young to adult; also training other teachers. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA. Ballet is one of my favorite classes to teach! I am excited to help young dancers perform their own Solo Recital in their homes.
Learners are encouraged to wear a Fairy Dress/Ballet Dancer Outfit/Leotard to the class for their Solo Recital Performance of 'The Sugar Plum Fairy'. Please also bring a Fairy Wand or something that can be used as a Wand. (E.g. Stick/Ruler/Pencil)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental Guidance:- Please ensure children have enough space to move around and remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!). Class Attire:- Children are encouraged to dress as a Fairy/Ballerina/Ballet Dancer. Alternately, please wear appropriate free-moving clothes e.g. tee-shirt with leggings, leotard and wear either ballet shoes or bare-feet (not socks) so they do not slip during the class. Prop: A Fairy Wand or something that can be used as a wand. Fitness:- Your child should be in a fit and healthy state. Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns. Technical Requirements:- Please check that your Zoom App is updated as this can cause issues with the sound quality in class.
