Travel back in time to 1849, when over 300,000 peopled traveled by land and sea to California in search of gold. Using interactive slides, discussion, group activities, and storytelling, students will learn about "forty-niners" that struck it rich and those that didn't. Students will also learn about the effects of the Gold Rush on California and the nation. We will discuss the the effect on indigenous populations in California.
