Description

Class Experience

Students will create fiction stories collaboratively.
Students will identify the important plot elements of fictional stories.
Students will differentiate between common genres of fiction stories.
Students will act out stories.
Students will make compromises and share ideas with one another.
There will be no homework.
Students will need stuffed animals and/or toys from around the house to use as props to help act out our stories. There will be a printable story board to print out prior to each class, and students will need pens, pencils or markers to write or draw with.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed informally. The entire class is collaborative and no student will be ignored.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will use google to research our historical fiction story.
Occasionally, I might play a story someone has read aloud from YouTube so we can analyze it.
After class, I will provide a list of the books we explored.
