I will be teaching through a live Zoom class. I encourage all students all students to have their video camera and microphone on, but it is not required after attendance. What's your teaching style? I believe that Ballet, and all types of dance, can be fun if taught properly. We will be doing a balancing game as well as a 5 positions game. In every step we do I will focus on breaking down each part. for example a pas de chat passes through Passé before you jump. I also named my left and right sides to avoid confusion verses being mirrored/not mirrored through the camera. I also encourage my students to speak up in my class in they are confused with anything, or they feel that they are ready to be challenged even more. for example if balancing in Passé is easy then we can add on by making it a Pirouette turn. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? We will be interacting throughout class by the use of the combination as a group as well as playing many games that will help us learn the faces and corners of a dancers area, terminology of dance terms, and finally just to have fun like in freeze dance. In addition, I will interact with each student individual by giving them comments of praise and small corrections to help us grow as a dancer or a class. 7) Any required experience or knowledge learners need? There is no experience required for this dance class. However this class will be more enjoyable if the dancer has some dance experience prior. I do recommend each child to have something that can take place as a "Ballet Barre" such as a chair, door knob or door handle or the end/bottom of a banister. In addition, Students will be participating in a physical fitness/movement activities though out the class. Please be aware that your child can end up injuring themselves. Therefore please make sure your child has sufficient dance space, proper foot ware (choice of ballet shoes or barefoot/socks). I encourage all students to have a water bottle near by and the student warmed up before class to avoid injury’s. Parental supervision is strongly encourage to help your dancer assure there safety and spacial awareness.
