What will be taught? The program I use focuses on foundational phonics skills aligned with the science of reading. Lessons are concise and focused on student participation. Slides and Visuals: Use of sound cards and decodable text sheets. Video Clips: Supplemental video instructions for teachers (not for students). Discussion: Guided comprehension questions encourage students to discuss the text. Practice Opportunities: Frequent interaction through the “We Do” and “You Do” phases.

Phonemic Awareness:
Identify, isolate, and blend sounds within words.
Recognize and produce individual phonemes through oral exercises.
Phonics and Decoding
Master letter-sound correspondences (e.g., /a/, /m/, /s/).
Blend sounds to read words fluently (e.g., "sat," "map").
Use orthographic mapping to connect phonemes and graphemes.
