This course is for anyone just starting out with guitar, who is looking for a laid-back comfortable approach to learning guitar. Each class is 40 minutes long, meeting once a week. The learner will receive instruction on basic notes, chords, rhythm, songs, learn how to use the pick and fingerstyle. Week 1 - Learning the parts of the guitar and some initial notes. Week 2 - (Continued) more notes & introduction to chords. Week 3 - Open Chords: E chord and the notes that comprise it....
Students will begin their journey in guitar and progress at their own individual pace.
Students will be encouraged to practice the things they learn in each session as a means of progressing. The old adage is somewhat correct ... practice makes us BETTER!
Learners need a guitar (acoustic or electric) and a pick.
There are no formal assessments, but constructive feedback will be provided on an ongoing basis.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
