Learners will need the following materials:
1. Nintendo Switch or Mobile Device (IOS or Android) 
2. Pokémon Unite App (Updated)
3. Stable Internet Connection 
4. Separate Device (Zoom)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Welcome Parents! As a lifelong gamer, I can attest that video games contribute to growth in problem-solving skills, social-emotional growth, and self-confidence. I will be hosting Pokémon Unite matches for aspiring and veteran Pokémon Unite Trainers. 

ABOUT POKÉMON UNITE: Pokémon Unit is a free-to-play game by Nintendo that can be played on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices (IOS and Android). The game does contain micro-transactions but they are not required and I do not encourage them.

Pokémon Unite is a multiplayer online game. The goal of the game is to work together in up to 5 player teams to battle Pokémon and collect energy orbs. These energy orbs are then turned into points as players deposit them into the other team's goals. The team that scores the most points wins the match. Players accomplish these tasks all while playing as other Pokémon. 

NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE ACCOUNTS: Paid Nintendo Switch Online accounts are not required to play Pokémon Unite. However, a free Nintendo Account is required.

GAMERTAGS: This game requires a Gamertag and will show a Gamertag when joining an online match. Please advise your learner to share their Gamertags in private messages ONLY. Please do not share personal information on the classroom page. 

ONLINE MATCHES: Nintendo may require that I add your learner to my friends list in order to place them in a match. As the match owner, I will also be required to actively play.

Since this is the case, there are a few guidelines that I set in place in order to comply with Outschool's Safety Policy:

1. Once your learner leaves the class, they are removed from my friends list.
2. We absolutely do not play outside of class time.
3. All communications stay on Outschool. 
4. Any friend requests between learners is encouraged after obtaining adult permission.

I will be actively monitoring the discussion to ensure everyone is being courteous and using school-appropriate language and modeling sportsmanship while playing.
