US Grade Kindergarten - 2
The students will be provided with a coloring sheet handmade by me to work on while I show a PowerPoint presentation with lecture and open discussion (The students can also draw their own picture of Saturn if they choose). The class is 35 minutes because we will only be discussing basic topics for young learners. We will discuss how far Saturn is from the Sun, the temperature, what Saturn is made of, its rings, and if we think life could exist on Saturn. I will ask questions and the students may also ask questions during our class time. At the end, they may share their artwork. *Class will run only if the minimum of 2 students is met. If only one student is signed up, I will allow the choice of either a refund or a transfer to another section up to one hour before class starts.
Learning Goals
The students will learn basic facts about Saturn. I will ask the students questions during the class such as "if Saturn is so far away from the Sun, do you think it is hot or cold there?" "Since Saturn is mostly made of gas, do you think you could land on Saturn?" We will discuss how Saturn is different from planet Earth, and why we think that is.
