This class is taught in English.
The students will learn basic facts about Saturn. I will ask the students questions during the class such as "if Saturn is so far away from the Sun, do you think it is hot or cold there?" "Since Saturn is mostly made of gas, do you think you could land on Saturn?" We will discuss how Saturn is different from planet Earth, and why we think that is.
Astronomy has been a passionate subject of mine since I was very young. It is something I have studied on my own for many years. I also just completed a college level astronomy class this past fall.
I will provide a coloring sheet that the parent can print out, or the child could draw their own. Supplies: Paper (if drawing their own), crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint (whichever the child prefers).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Progress will be assessed based on student participation.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
