Beginner - Advanced Level
  • Daydream Academy's Sims 4 Club is designed to seamlessly amalgamate the worlds of education and play. Our learning goals leverage the interactive and engaging nature of The Sims to foster a variety of skills among tweens and teens. Our learning goals include: 🔴 Architectural Design and Creativity: Learners will explore basic principles of architecture and design as they build and furnish homes in The Sims 4, fostering a sense of creativity and an understanding of spatial planning. 🟢 Budget Management and Financial Literacy: Managing the finances of their Sims characters teaches learners the importance of budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation, skills that are vital for personal financial literacy. 🔵 Storytelling and Narrative Development: The club encourages learners to create and narrate life stories for their Sims, enhancing their ability to construct coherent narratives, develop characters, and engage in creative writing. 🟡 Critical Thinking and Decision Making: As learners navigate through various life scenarios in The Sims 4, they will practice critical thinking and decision-making skills, learning to anticipate and evaluate the consequences of their choices. 🟣 Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: By managing the social relationships and emotional well-being of their Sims, learners will develop a deeper understanding of human emotions, empathy, and the complexities of social interactions. 🟠 Cultural Awareness and Diversity: The Sims 4 provides opportunities to explore different cultures through the game's diverse characters and settings, promoting global awareness and appreciation for diversity. 🔴 Problem Solving: Learners will encounter and need to resolve various challenges within the game, which promotes adaptive problem-solving skills and innovative thinking. 🟢 Digital Literacy: Through regular interaction with The Sims 4 and its community, learners will enhance their digital literacy, becoming more proficient in navigating and utilizing digital tools and platforms. 🔵Collaboration and Teamwork: Working together and sharing creations with the club will teach learners the value of collaboration, communication, and constructive feedback in a team setting. 🟡 Life Skills Education: The Sims 4 club offers a virtual space to explore and discuss real-life scenarios and decisions, providing a unique opportunity to learn about and discuss a wide range of life skills in a safe and controlled environment. These learning goals are designed to ensure that participation in our The Sims 4 Club is not only fun and engaging but also educational, providing learners with valuable skills and knowledge that will benefit them beyond the gaming environment.

The game should be reviewed by parents prior to enrolling to assess suitability for their learner. Please download and update The Sims 4 game prior to class so we can get started immediately. Gamer tags are not required for class because we will not be connecting online with each other. This is a single player game that will be used for our club.
