Class Experience

Come explore our world with me! In this interactive course, students will be introduced to the seven continents of the world. Through engaging visuals and interactive discussion, the students will learn to identify and name the seven continents. We will "visit" each continent to discover two animals who call that continent home. Students will be encouraged to participate as we interact with the material in various ways. Finally, we'll play a quick wrap-up game to make the learning fun! I will also provide digital images and printables that students can use after class to review what they learned. It's my goal that each student will gain a sense of wonder for our beautiful world.
Learning Goals
The goal is that each student will be able to name all seven continents of the world and to locate them on a world map. They will become familiar with some of the animals that live on each continent.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bob Jones University
Hello! Thank you for stopping by my profile page. A very warm welcome to you.

I love students, I love learning, and I love teaching! From my early childhood days of playing school with my little sister, to the online teaching I am doing today, it has been one of life's great joys to connect with people of all ages, from all over the world.

My philosophy:
A caring, joyful, and knowledgeable teacher is best able to instill in students a sense of curiosity and wonder at the beauty of the world around them. Students of all ages learn most effectively when they are encouraged and challenged by a teacher with a passion for the material and a love and respect for the student.

My Qualifications:
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English Education and have over 30 years of teaching experience. Over the years, it has been my privilege to teach every age from preschool to adult. This teaching has been done in a wide variety of settings, including private school, homeschool, private tutoring, an overseas English immersion school for elementary aged children, small group church classes for both children and adults, online ESL classes, and an in-person adult ESL and US citizenship prep and practice course.

My Classes:
Online teaching is an amazing platform for engaging with students around the world! My formal training is in English Language Arts (reading, writing, grammar, and literature), but my experience and interests expand into other areas including travel, world geography, history, character development, and critical thinking. All of these interests will likely influence the types of classes I choose to create.

Thank you for your interest in my profile. I look forward to meeting your learners and interacting with them on their educational journey.
