Welcome to this course on the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World! In this three-part course, we will explore together the legends, stories, and evidence of these ancient creations that were deemed magnificent for their time and even by modern standards. Although not many still exist to this day, their stories have lasted. In this class, we will examine some of the histories behind each Wonder of the World by looking at the people and culture that influenced the designs. As well, we will also review how it became one of the chosen wonders and if we agree that it should be considered a Wonder of the World. Students are welcome to share their opinions on what they think makes each location unique and if they would want to visit each one (if they all still existed). Each class will be guided by a slideshow presentation to help students understand and visualize each Wonder of the World. There will be discussion questions and opportunities for the students to ask questions. At the end of each class, there will a Kahoot to test students' knowledge of what they have learned.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the uniqueness behind each Seven Ancient Wonders of the World.
Students will examine the cultural and religious importance of these ancient sites, and what role, if any, they play in our world today.
