Class Experience

My goal is for students to learn more about the area of Scotland known as The Scottish Highlands. This area is rich with culture, history, geography, and folklore. In this course, I hope to touch in each of these areas and provide students with knowledge of the area not often learned in a traditional Social Studies course.
During my higher education while obtaining a Bachelor's degree in history, I spent an extensive amount of time learning about the Scottish Highlands and learning their cultures and traditions. It is one of my favorite areas of study, and I look forward to sharing that with your children!
There will be no homework assigned for this course.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be made through class discussion, also through interactive elements such as the game I have scheduled for the end of the class.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The discussion of wars, battles, and rebellions will occur. I plan on keeping the nature of this discussion very professional and educational and do not intend on sharing gruesome or gory details nor images. But, if discussion of wartime subjects disturbs your child, please be aware that it will briefly be touched upon.
