At the end of the class, students will be able to name the four stages of sleep and what occurs during each. Students will be able to better interpret their dreams. Students will become familiar with a sleep study. Students will be able to name some sleep disorders people experience. Students will gain insight on how to better manage their own sleep.
I have been the Coordinator for a hospital-based sleep disorders lab for the last eight years and am a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. I have worked with thousands of patients over the years running sleep studies and improving sleep disorders. I currently teach to the public on how to improve sleep hygiene and spent 10 years prior to this teaching middle school science.
