SAT prep will be focused on strategies for all parts of the exam. The best way for any student to do their best on these exams is to have a strategic plan and to practice. Text anxiety is one of the most common challenges facing students who are taking high stakes exams and the best way to conquer that anxiety is to feel prepared. Our goal, above all other goals, will be to make sure that students are prepared and that they FEEL prepared! I am an experienced SAT tutor, and the SAT testing coordinator at my school, I will utilize the best resources available - the College Board has an excellent question bank - to offer a thorough preparation for both the EBRW and Math Sections of the SAT In this short, but thorough, prep class we will focus on key areas of the exam where students can pick up points. Students will learn how to find free points on the math section, will review some key math concepts that make a big differences, will practice reading strategies to limit overthinking and to identify different types of questions, and of course we will review what standard English writing is supposed to look like and remind students about some rules they might not be in the habit of following when they text their friends!
