This is a multi-day class, this class is also available as a Flexible course. We will meet once a week to discuss life in the Roman army. Every week there will be at least one activity for the learners to complete, it would be great if learners shared their completed activities during the next class, alternatively they can send them to me for review and comment. This ongoing course is over 6 weeks with one class per week. Week 1 - Joining the Army: Who could join? Why did they join?...
For students who attend all classes, they will gain an overview of what life in the Roman army would have been like. They will understand how the army was organised, what they wore, and what they did (not just fighting).
I have a degree in Humanities with a classical civilisation specialism. My study was focused on ancient Greeks and Romans.
Additional activities will be given each week, these are optional but will help learners to consolidate their learning. Learners are encouraged to complete the activities and send them to the teacher for evaluation.
All learning materials will be provided.
There is no formal assessment. However, all completed activities which are sent to the teacher will be reviewed and the teacher will reply with comments for the learner.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
