As a highly qualified Certified Dyslexia Tutor and Reading Interventionist with 29 years of experience, I specialize in teaching struggling readers to read. I begin with a brief discovery screening to assess your child's needs, covering areas such as alphabet and sound recognition, decoding and encoding skills, phonological awareness, and more. Using a systematic approach, I employ the speech-to-print methodology to guide your child along a continuum of phonics instruction, ensuring they gain the necessary skills for success. Sessions include interactive activities with letter and word tiles, videos, games, slides, and instruction in high-frequency words and decodable reading. Through the UFLI Foundations program, we focus on letter-sound relationships, reading, spelling, and writing. I believe in meeting the student where they are and guiding them to success. I am committed to meeting students at their current level and providing guidance tailored to their individual needs to ensure their success. If you are unable to find a suitable time slot listed, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule with other available options.

I am a Certified Dyslexia Therapist and Reading Interventionist. I have worked with struggling readers for 29 years. I believe every child can learn, each child learns differently so you must find the right teacher and the key to open the door. Even at a young age, I knew I wanted to teach reading.
I have a masters degree in education, am a certified Reading Recovery Specialist, a certified Literacy Coach, and a certified Dyslexia Therapist. I use the multi-sensory methodology of teaching reading as well as other research-based methods of instruction, all of which are set up to help the struggling reader. I will choose the tools that best fits your child.
In my introductory video you met my fur baby. Since March 2020 I've spent a lot of time tutoring virtually, reading, knitting and crocheting with him napping on my lap.
