The Reading Room for Struggling Readers and/or Dyslexic Students [RR9]

As a highly qualified Certified Dyslexia Tutor and Reading Interventionist with 29 years of experience, I specialize in teaching struggling readers to read. I begin with a brief discovery screening to assess your child's needs, covering areas such as alphabet and sound recognition, decoding and encoding skills, phonological awareness, and more. Using a systematic approach, I employ the speech-to-print methodology to guide your child along a continuum of phonics instruction, ensuring they gain the necessary skills for success.
Sessions include interactive activities with letter and word tiles, videos, games, slides, and instruction in high-frequency words and decodable reading. Through the UFLI Foundations program, we focus on letter-sound relationships, reading, spelling, and writing. I believe in meeting the student where they are and guiding them to success. I am committed to meeting students at their current level and providing guidance tailored to their individual needs to ensure their success.
