What's included
1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
From a tiny seed in the spring, watching it grow all summer, to carving a face for Halloween! Pumpkins can provide so many fun hands-on learning opportunities at home and in the classroom. Where do pumpkins come from? How do pumpkins grow? What are the different color and sizes of pumpkins? In this lesson we will learn about the parts of the pumpkin through hands on exploration, interactive discussion, and making a pumpkin life cycle craft. In this one-time class learners explore the parts of a real pumpkin with eyes closed and eyes open, using words and drawings to share their sensory discoveries. Learners will learn where pumpkins come from, how they grow (life cycle), and the different colors and sizes. After watching a video and singing, The Pumpkin Life Cycle Song, by Casey Haggerty, learners will draw the pumpkin life cycle using a paper plate or paper, and cut-outs stages or draw stages. This lesson involves learners in several types of learning activities; discussion, observation, hands on activity, and interacting with teacher and other learners. My teaching style is child-centered, interactive, and engaging. No prior skills are necessary. This class last 40-45 minutes depending on class size and children's abilities.
