Class Experience

Creative beginner lessons for young children who are just starting to learn the piano! This is a great course to follow “The Playful Piano- A Fun Introduction For Kids”.

Each lesson will have fun activities and interactive games to introduce basic concepts such as posture, hand position, the note reading. The environment will always be positive and fun!

In my experience, young children who are learning piano for the first time love to have rewards for accomplishing small tasks. The learning for each week will be determined by the particular needs of each student. I will build upon what they know and introduce the next sequential concept each week.

I will have the students participate in several engaging activities to help them learn, while continuously reviewing previous concepts. I will keep track of their progress and reward their learning with fun stickers and games with my helper buddies, Paganini Panda and Mozart Mimi.

I will also send a recap video out after the lesson for helping each student practice during the week.

The lessons are meant to inspire young children to love playing music and to enjoy learning more and more about playing the piano!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! :)
I am thrilled to be here and to share the joy of music-making!
I am a professional violinist and pianist, and I hold multiple music performance degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In my career, I have performed in multiple competitions, international music festivals, and solo recitals on both instruments.
I am a graduate of The Orchestra Now program in New York, where I performed concerts in venues across the state, including Carnegie Hall and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have also performed as artist with Lincoln Center Stage and performed concerts in over 25 countries.
Here are some of my performances on piano and violin! https://youtube.com/channel/UCJAi505tF-PqweHiJ-m4m7g

My goal as a music teacher is to inspire and bring out the best in each student, by addressing concepts clearly and efficiently, while also tailoring lessons to each student’s individual needs and learning styles.
I want to teach in a way that is always fun and inspiring for each student!

In the courses I am offering, I cover a wide spectrum of core music-making concepts that suit a wide range of levels. I also address the specifics of the violin and piano, so that mastery of the instrument can be built up step by step, in an organized and direct approach. Unique to my own style of teaching is the emphasis I put on efficient, ergonomic, and natural body movement in playing an instrument, which was informed by years of study in the Alexander Technique. Through freedom of movement and strong habits of awareness, the act of playing music can be even more enjoyable, fun, and inspiring!!

Some fun facts:
I am a lifelong learner, which currently manifests in studying languages, chess, and cooking! Food, especially anything involving noodles, is one of my most favorite things!
I also love taking care of my two red-eared slider turtles, Bonnie and Clyde! :)
