A one-time class leading to a 12-week course for beginning to intermediate Piano students. Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, and Music theory will be covered.
Class experience
This is an introductory lesson for students who have had some Piano lessons and basic keyboard knowledge. Music theory will be covered in each class, so students understand how songs are composed. Proper hand position and technique will be covered as well as Harmony and melody. Pieces will be in PDF format. Upon completion, students can register for the 12-week course. Students will understand the technique and theory behind the pieces they play. Technique and Tery will be covered so students can apply their knowledge to playing any instrument.
I studied at Berklee College of music and have a master's in Music. I have extensive years of experience as a keyboard player /MD for several national acts. I have 23 years of teaching experience in the Public schools of New York state.
Homework Offered
Students should practice at least a half hour per day for five days per week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Each student will play and or record their pieces and exercises.Grades Offered
A 49,61, 76, or 88-key keyboard with touch sensitivity is recommended.
