Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to:
-- Articulate and describe how heat transfer enables us to cook and preserve food
-- Explain how cooking produces chemical changes in ingredients
-- Identify how engineers have refined cooking technologies
-- Design and conduct experiments using different materials
I'm a mechanical engineer and engineering educator with a passion for helping empower kids to understand the world around them. 
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This class is open to students from diverse food cultures. Learners are encouraged to share foods they would like to discuss in class, and there is no requirement that students work with ingredients that are outside of their regular diets.
