The Penderwicks (book 1 ) by Jeanne Birdsall is the 1st book in the 5 book series. It includes topics of being a friend, sisters, adventures, crushes, soccer, loyalty, dogs, a bit of mischievousness, and much more! This book has 262 pages (18 chapters). We will cover about 2 chapters each class, which means we will meet 8 times. Before Week 1: Students will be expected to read chapters 1-2 before the 1st class. Day 1: Homework-- Students read chapters 3-5 Day 2: Homework-- Students read chapters 6-7 Day 3: Homework-- Students read chapters 8-10 Day 4: Homework-- Students read chapters 11-12 Day 5: Homework-- Students read chapters 13-14 Day 6: Homework-- Students read chapters 15-16 Day 7: Homework-- Students read chapters 17-18 Day 8: no homework During each class, we will discuss the main topics, thoughts, and characters' reactions for the chapters read. *If you would rather this class broken up into more weeks or a different time/day, then message me.
