Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
In this one-time class, learners will learn what metaphors are and the ways they can improve our writing. Through games and interactive exercises we will generate metaphors together. We will then do collaborative and individual writing to create poems using our metaphors. By the end of class learners will have a better understanding of metaphors and how to create them, and will have written two poems. Learners will receive some additional writing prompts at the end of class so they can continue to experiment with writing metaphors after class.
