Description

Class Experience

- Students will improve speaking skills in the following: Volume/speed, Eye contact, Posture, Poise, Facial expression and Vocal inflection
- In a group, students will plan and create a presentation.
- Students will confidently deliver a speech in front of a group.
- Students will use persuasion methods to create an argument
- Students will persuade an audience to buy a one-of-a-kind creation

I have over 6 years in teaching public speaking workshops for students. In this time, I've successfully supported students in their public speaking goals by outlining a clear criteria and plan for success. 
Students will have class assignments during this class. If students have not finished, they can finish post class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Students will be assessed through the following evaluations:
- Performance Assessment (students will have the opportunity to solve a problem or complete a project demonstrating their - knowledge and skills, as well as the evaluation of the product they create)
- Exit Slips (students will be asked to answer 3 sets of questions: 1) What did I learn? 2 things I found interesting? 3) 1 question I still have
- Student Quizzes
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will use Kahoot! platform and google drive throughout our class. Kahoot! will be used a resource for review purposes only. Learners will need to download the Kahoot! app to participate in class reviews.

Google Drive will be used as visual aids to support class assignments throughout the course. If your learner does not have access to Google Drive, powerpoint presentation can be used as an alternative. Additionally, google drive can be used to write speeches and/or individual presentations. Microsoft Word can also be used as an alternative to recording speeches depending on students comfortability level.
