Class Experience
In this one-time class, learners will explore and expand their knowledge of STEM concepts through an engineering challenge. With a small class size, learners will have more opportunities to connect with their peers and receive more personalized guidance from the educator. We will begin with an ice breaker game to encourage social connections and comfort with one another, as well as learners will complete a safety quiz to ensure their understanding of safety concepts prior to completing any...
Students will gain a deeper understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math concepts throughout our class.
- Plastic cups (Red Solo Cups or equivalent) - Tall cups or other heavy objects (this will act as the base for the wreaking ball) - Orange - String - Masking tape or duct tape - Scissors - Straws - PDF Reflection Page * You are welcome to use any other household materials you feel would work well in this build
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using a wide range of household materials in our engineering challenges. Parental guidance may be required. Some materials used such as scissors may require additional parental guidance and assistance. Please note due to OS Safety Policy, parents/ guardians must remain off-camera.
