US Grade 3 - 5
Learners should read the novel "The One and Only Ivan" and watch the entire movie before our meeting. Our discussion will focus on our impression of the screen version of our book. We will compare our vision for the characters, the setting, and the story to the producer's vision. We'll also share what we loved and didn't love about the screen version of this book. During our meeting, I will facilitate a roundtable discussion and make sure everyone has a chance to share their ideas. I'll guide the students as they express their opinions and listen to the opinions of others. Learning to support your ideas from literature is the foundation of literary analysis, so our book club will allow learners the opportunity to practice in a comfortable atmosphere. Our meeting will end with a short game related to the book. This class pairs well with the "October Novel Club / Read "the One and Only Ivan" With a Certified Teacher!" course, but is not required! Visit my other courses to sign up.
