Class Experience

Students will create the ocean layers/zones in jar while performing a density experiment. The class will begin with an introduction to the zones/layers of the ocean. Students will briefly explore each ocean layer and the types of creatures that live in the layer/zone. Next students will learn about the concept of density. Students will experiment with the concept of density when combining different liquid together in a jar. Finally, students will use the density experiment to model the different zones/layers of the ocean.
