Class Experience
**This camp is broken up into TWO age groups, so please look for the other class if your child is over 6 years old** The Nutcracker is an iconic ballet performed worldwide every year. The gorgeous dances have been loved by generations for over one hundred years. The music is absolutely magical and this fairy tale awes its audiences. So enchanting! Young dancers will have the opportunity to listen to the ballet's beautiful music and learn age-appropriate dances, such as the magical "Dance...
Students will learn to dance in a safe way and improve their techniques. They will gain flexibility, strength, and improve their memory and focus as they learn choreography.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
If possible, please provide a chair or something sturdy at an appropriate length for the height of your child for balancing. Please make sure your child takes the class in an open area where they will not accidentally kick something or put themselves in danger. Ideally, the space would not be slippery, but if it is a slippery surface, it is recommended to use non-stick socks or shoes. If your child already has ballet shoes, it is recommended they use them (although not required). Parents and guardians should remain nearby to assist and prevent accidents. Children are free to dress up, but please make sure the attire is loosely fitting. Having a water bottle nearby is ideal. If class is taken during warmer months, it is ideal to have an air conditioner or fan running to prevent overheating.
