In this one-time class, students will explore the life and musical works of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Class Experience

In this class, you will learn about one of classical music's greatest musical composers - Ludwig von Beethoven. 
We will discuss Beethoven's life and musical career, as well as how his compositions pushed the limits of the Classical Era and foreshadowed music of the Romantic Era. 

Class will feature a mixture of teacher lecture, listening examples, class discussion, question and answer sessions, and study guide handouts. Class time will generally be broken down into the following segments...

Students will learn about the life and career of Ludwig von Beethoven, one of classical music's greatest composers. 
Additionally, students will learn about the musical and stylistic characteristics of the Classical and Romantic Eras and specific works by Beethoven that exemplify these characteristics.
