This class works very well if your child is comfortable with reading and writing. Knowing how to spell words is not essential - just being very comfortable with pencil and paper will be helpful. The novel The Mouse and the Motorcycle is on a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level. Students do not need to know all the words in the book to be successful; however please examine the book before enrolling to make sure that this book is a good fit for the student. Parents are welcome to read the novel with the student if the reading level is a little high for independent reading.
