Class Experience

Students will need
Mixing bowls, spoons, measuring cups both wet and dry, measuring spoons, whisk, spatula, pitcher, rolling pin, pie plate, rolling pin, gallon bag, cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicon baking liners are a good idea for cooling our chocolate creations.
Students will need a stand mixer or electric mixer for the ice cream.

Pumpkin Potion (Students will use a big pot for this recipe. They will also want a large container or pitcher to store their pumpkin potion. They will want a whisk and spatula as well). You may half this recipe if you want.
4 liters apple cider or apple juice
1 15 oz pumpkin puree
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp. vanilla

Chocolate Wands (Students will need a microwave safe bowl, spatula, whisk, cookie sheet with silicon liner or parchment paper)
12 Pretzel rods
12 oz (If you want to do two packages for extra flavors, that is fine too. White candy melts/vanilla-flavored almond bark and/or chocolate candy melts (You can use chocolate chips or candy melts for this recipe and the bonbons. Candy melts are easier to use, but they are a bit more expensive and harder to find)
Sprinkles (Gold, silver, or star shaped are fun for a Harry Potter theme but not required)

Magical Ice Cream Pie (Stand mixer or electric mixer, microwave safe bowl, mixing bowl for crust and mixing bowl for ice cream, spatula, rolling pin/kitchen mallet, gallon plastic bag, pie plate, measuring cups and spoons).
2 1/2 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
1/4 c. Instant Butterscotch Pudding Mix
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. caramel syrup
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 stick butter
1 package graham crackers
pie plate

Exploding Chocolates (Microwave safe bowl, mixing bowl, cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicon liner, rolling pin/kitchen mallet, gallon bag, spatula, fork, spoon)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
36 OREO Cookies
5 (.33 ounce) envelopes popping candy (like Pop Rocks)
12 ounces chocolate candy coating

2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using the stove top during this class. Part of the class will be learning about kitchen safety, but there is always a risk of injury when working with these items. Younger students may need some assistance. If your child has any allergies, please review the ingredient list for high allergy foods. Parents should be around to monitor the students while they cook.
