Class Experience

US Grade 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
7th Grade teaches the most fundamental math in middle school. Without this foundation, it will be very challenging to learn high school math, particularly algebra and geometry.

Students must have already completed a 6th grade math course before joining this 7th grade math review course. This review course is also good for someone who has struggled with 7th grade math this past year and want to be prepared for 8th grade math.

In this ongoing course, we will cover the 6 units presented in 7th grade:

Week 1, Week of August 12th: Topics in Ratios and Proportions
Week 2, Week of August 19th: Topics in Rational Numbers (operations with positive and negative numbers)
Week 3, Week of August 26th: Topics in Algebraic Expressions
Week 4, Week of September 9th: Algebraic Equations and Inequalities
Week 5, Week of September 16th: Topics in Statistics and Probability
Week 6, Week of September 23rd: Topics in Geometry

The pace will be set by the students enrolled. Each class will include a non-routine problem and end with a state exam prep question. The main part of the lesson will include strategies that I have used to help students who were average in math to earn top marks on their exams.
