In this class, learners will experience the timeless magic of Aesop's fables. In the first meeting, we will discuss the origin of the fables and what purpose they serve. I will read fables and we will discuss them. The learners will also have the opportunity to read short fables to the class. There's nothing like a good story! I want to inspire kids to be interested and engaged in listening to stories, and storytelling is something that I find myself engaged in almost daily.
I will provide versions of the stories for learners to read from in class or to use in preparation for their projects, but various versions of all fables are easily found on the world wide web.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
