In this Ballet class, step with Miss Grace into the magical World of Frozen and go on a dance adventure, using icy powers and wonderful friendships. This is a fun and creative themed class, where young dancers can dress up in their favourite, character, as they dance their way into legendary icy story, through exploration and dance expression. (costumes are not essential). Dancers will use Ballet exercises and steps, to support learning and development, such as spatial awareness, co-ordination, maths skills and development of musicality. We will use lots of imagination as we explore Elsa’s Frozen world. This is a class for 3-6 years and will be underpinned with Miss Grace’s knowledge of good dance technique and experience, as a qualified ISTD Ballet Teacher. No previous dance experience is required. 1) Welcome and introduction 2) Ballet warm -up: To promote safe dance practice. 3) Exercises 3- 4 dance sequences to develop dance technique themed to Frozen. 4) Frozen Ballet cool-down: To relax dancers’ muscles. 5) Traditional Ballet farewell and good-bye to our dance friends. Miss Grace is very excited about the opportunity to teach aspiring young dancers across the world and looks forward to welcoming to the legendary icy World of Frozen.
Learning Goals
Classical Ballet physical development: Correct posture, turn out from the hips, alignment and all skills (plus more) listed under class experience. Dancers will be sent a chart to print out at home, this is for dancers to track their progress.
On top of technical Ballet skills, dancers will also learn; discipline, listening skills and movement to support development of motor skills (fine & motor). To engage in dance supports your child’s health and well-being.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parents/guardians will need to open up the workout space (making sure the space is as hazard free as possible). Your child is to be wearing appropriate footwear during this lesson (soft ballet shoes, bare feet or socks with grips on the sole). Your dancer is free to have a drink whenever then need it, please ensure a drink is sorted before lesson. This class requires no stretching beforehand, as the class begins with a couple of fun warm up songs to get your dancers body moving. To prevent distractions and/or injuries occurring, I ask that your child is properly supervised at all times.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Miss Grace (ISTD DDE), Principal of The Mini Dance Studio. In everyday life I teach many different genres of dance. Through Outschool, I am offering and introducing children to the world of Ballet.
I believe that Dance is a sport which supports the development of the human body; proprioception, fine and gross motor skills, grows dancers confidence, builds and improves relationships through watching and listening and supports dancers imagination.
Over the years, I have auditioned, trained and performed as part of the English Youth Ballet, and participated in English National Ballet workshops. I have gained professional development at prestigious dance schools, such as Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and ISTD extended teacher training. I have successfully completed and passed the ISTD Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) – specialising in Ballet and Modern Theatre. I also am a certified teacher of Progressing Ballet technique teacher (PBT) and Acrobatic Arts.
