Class Experience

The middle school years can be hard! Many kids flounder or tread water when making the transition from the familiarity of elementary school to the more rigid structure and workload of middle school. Students with ADHD or executive function struggles, however, can face a particular set of difficulties as they wrestle with hyperactivity, impulsivity, and delayed maturity — as well as their own growing desire for autonomy.

Whether you are diagnosed with ADHD or not, you will find this class useful as we will first talk about 10 of the biggest challenges you might face as you enter middle school — like navigating confusing new schedules or keeping track of a planner — as well as easy-to-apply solutions to help steer you towards academic and personal success.

Hi -

My name is Jamie. I am a husband, father of four, and business owner. In addition to currently having a son in middle school, I also have ADHD, so I understand the unique challenges of growing up with ADHD as well as navigating adulthood and parenthood! I love hearing peoples’ stories. I love helping others. I love teaching.

Before coaching, I worked in Higher Education for 16 years in the area(s) of student affairs, athletic media relations, and alumni engagement at Boston College, College of the Holy Cross, and Dartmouth College respectively. I earned my BA from Providence College and my Master’s Degree from Boston College in Leadership & Administration.

In 2020, I completed my certification program for Coaching Teens & College Students with ADHD from JST Coaching & Training, a leading authority on student coaching and ADHD/EF student coaching worldwide.

With over twenty years of experience in various school environments, consulting for organizations as well as my own personal journey, I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of struggling learners and want to empower students to believe in themselves.
