Mayan: Civilization, Culture & Empire. Students will learn about the history of the Mayan people and what they contributed to our society. Students will virtually visit different Mayan settlements and see how they live.

The class will start with introductions. I will start by introducing my name Teacher Sarah. I will say hello to each student. I will then ask for the pictures (printed or digital) that the students brought to class. (If they choose to bring a picture.) The class will be divided into 4 parts. First : We will discuss where the Mayans are located. We will look at the map of Central America. We will map their sites and name the countries where the Mayan have and had settlements. We will...
Students will learn to how the ancient civilization of the Maya contributed to today's society.
I have been a teacher for 22 years. Out of those 22 years, I was a world cultures and Spanish teacher for 7 years. Those were fun years. Students were able to have fun in the lesson. We learned about different cultures and played games that other cultures played. I also had the opportunity to visit some of the Mayan ruins in Mexico. I have a World Cultures license and a Spanish certification.
Each student will bring a picture (digital or printed) of one of the Mayan structures found in Central America.

Have another device/cell ready to play Kahoot at the end of class.
We will play a Kahoot game at the end of class to test our knowledge about the Mayan Civilization.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
