Manga & Manhwa Fan Club: Read, Watch, Discuss! is designed for students to engage with anime and manga in a fun, social setting. While the content is generally age-appropriate, parents should be aware of the following:
Content Sensitivity:
Some manga and anime series may contain mild fantasy violence, occasional mild language, or themes such as friendship, self-discovery, and overcoming obstacles.
Certain series may explore topics like family dynamics, personal challenges, or emotional struggles, which could prompt thoughtful discussions on complex issues. Please review the weekly selections with your child to ensure appropriateness.
Group Discussions:
In our discussions, students will have the opportunity to share their opinions, ideas, and personal thoughts about the material. While we encourage respectful and inclusive conversations, some students may have different interpretations or emotional reactions to the stories.
Parents are encouraged to engage with their child outside of class, particularly after discussions that may involve sensitive topics, to help process any emotions or questions that arise.
Viewing and Reading Materials:
The class will include a mix of manga and anime readings, some of which may require watching anime episodes at home between class sessions. Please ensure that students have access to the necessary materials for a positive experience.
Parental Involvement:
We encourage parents to support their child’s participation by fostering a space for open dialogue about the stories, characters, and themes discussed in class.
If you have concerns about specific content or would like recommendations for other age-appropriate materials, please feel free to reach out.
