We will begin the class with students sharing one or two of their favorite toys. After sharing time, students will listen to a story by Mo Willems called "I Love My Toy!". In the story, Gerald and Piggie are best friends, but when one of them accidentally breaks the friend's toy, their friendship is tested. After listening to the story, students will be asked comprehension questions, including the question, "What is the moral of the story?" Then, students will draw pictures of their favorite...
Students will answer questions about key details in the story; explain the moral of the story; use a combination of drawing and writing to show an opinion; and express their thoughts and feelings clearly.
