Each week a new guided meditation will be explored and practiced during this live class. Students will log on with cameras on to meet their fellow meditation classmates. Cameras may then be turned off if the learner would like. Each class will include a deep breathing practice and meditation. Examples of meditation and breathing styles will include, but not limited to visualizations, mantras, focused awareness, mindfulness, pyramid breathing, 3 part breath, alternate nostril breathing, loving kindness, personal reflection, and body scan.
Learning Goals
Students can discover which meditation feels right for themselves and invite them to achieve a natural feeling of peace, calm, and clarity.

Supply List
The optimal learning environment is a quiet, comfortable space. Students may sit up or lay down for the meditation and breathing practices. Ideally, students will have a blanket or yoga mat on the floor. If in seated position: a pillow or cushion may be used. If lying down: a pillow may be used to support the head and a rolled up bath towel makes the perfect support cushion to place under the knees. Please ask me any questions regarding props.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

My name is Deneen, and my goal is to create a container that builds confidence in children’s minds, creates space in their hearts for themselves and others, and gives them the tools needed for relaxation in their bodies. I have taught yoga for over a decade and am currently pursuing a Master's of Social Work. I currently work in a trauma-informed environment offering mindfulness and anxiety regulation for individuals and group therapy.
