Class Experience

🌞 Hello and welcome!
As an experienced kindergarten teacher, I know just how to engage your young learner - with💥magic, of course! This fun and skill-building class will feature new concepts each day!
This one-on-one, private class is a great way to introduce your learner to the joys of art! We will focus on their interests and skill level as we create robots, make paper crowns, paint, print and color our own wrapping paper and enjoy many other exciting projects! This is a great class for ESL learners and for those on the spectrum. I have experience working with both and this class can be tailored for the individual student.

💥The Magic Closet is an ongoing class that will allow your child to join at any point during the year and unsubscribe at any time.
Our November Schedule is as follows:
November 14: Accordion Penguin! Clothing to Keep Us Warm :)
November 18: Let's make an Origami Cat - Exercise - the Tabata Sprint!
November 28: Beep, Beep - Cut out and Color the Robot! Our Joints :)
December 2: Game Making! A Tic-Tac-Toe Ladybug Creation! Ear Health
December 5: Puzzle, Puzzle! Let's make a Unicorn Puzzle :D Fingernails!

The art supplies for our class will be common items and I'll let you know at least a week in advance what you'll need for each upcoming class. Your learner should arrive to class with the needed items within their reach. Items they may need during each class will include safety scissors, crayons, markers or colored pencils and a glue stick.
Please reach out to me with any questions. I hope you'll join me in this💥magical learning adventure!
Learning Goals
💙 Art provides so many opportunities for learning!
🎨 Fostering a child's artistic nature now can instill a love for deep mental work that may benefit them all their lives.
✂️ As we construct each project, students will become more familiar with terms like "fold", "sponge", "paste" and "paint". We will even be practicing a variety of math skills including shapes, ordinal numbers and spatial relationships. Your little artist will practice following directions and we will move at their individual pace. One of the greatest benefits of art is the development of concentration, focus and well-being. Finally, your learner will experience the joy of sharing their accomplishment with others!

Hello and welcome!
My name is Tina Cowell and I'm an experienced teacher and principal with 20 years in the classroom. I enjoy teaching students of all ages: preschoolers, kindergarten students who are just learning to reading, as well as graduating high school seniors. I have six years of online teaching experience, particularly with preschool and kindergarten-age children, and know how to keep students engaged throughout a virtual class. As a career teacher and elementary school administrator, I believe all students can be engaged and inspired by an open and relaxed approach to reading. My classes are built around student engagement, interaction and comfort, and encourage a love of reading and discovery. We always have a lot of fun! I have experience with learners on the spectrum, as well as those in gifted programs. I am accustomed to and welcome those who are learning English as a second or third language. I am also sensitive to those who are adjusting to the virtual classroom and just wish to listen. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. I hope you'll join me for every exciting class!
