Description
Class Experience
It's fall! Classes have already begun, but to accommodate students beginning the course later fall, I am condensing the third essay into a 3-day workshop. Normal pacing is usually one lesson per week. More than just a composition course, this class will teach students how to think using the five common topics of invention to explore their ideas using a formal process. Students will learn to write one persuasive essay utilizing the classical tools of invention, arrangement, and elocution.
Students will read the assigned fairy tale for the class. Students will have approximately one hour of homework per day. Students will practice what was modeled in class using assignments in the Lost Tools of Writing Student Workbook.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will not assign a grade. Students may submit their assignments through the classroom for an informal assessment.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
We will use well-known Fairy Tales as source texts for our persuasive writing in class. Any non-Disney version is suitable for class.
