Class Experience

The objective of this class is to teach children to write a simple, heartfelt, thank you note.

First we will talk about why you should write thank you notes. Then we will practice writing a note together as a class with the teacher guiding the children through the process. Next, each child will craft a note of their own, with guidance as needed. Children will be given the opportunity to share what they have written, if they choose to do so. Some children are shy and may not wish to share so they can send the note to the teacher in private chat, for review.

Once the children have created a note of their own, we will see examples of different ways you can access thank you notes or make your own.

At the end of the class, each child will receive a handout outlining the steps to writing effective Thank you notes. The handout will include ideas on creating their own unique thank you cards.

As a teacher, teaching writing skills, is something I have especially enjoyed. I love to write in my spare time, especially letters and poetry. As a mother and grandmother, I know firsthand, how special those little thank-yous received from children or grand children truly are! I believe that in order to create the loving world we envision, teaching children gratitude is essential. This is one simple and easy way to teach children how to express gratitude to important people in their lives. It is a practice that will bring joy into the lives of others, as well.
