In this one time class, learners will learn the history of Helen Keller. I have created a slide show presentation for learners to view as we have a lecture/discussion based class. No prior knowledge needed. This class will cover how the young Helen Keller became blind and deaf. Learners will learn how she overcame these obstacles and lead a very successful life. They will learn how Helen was able to communicate, learn and achieve, even though her world was silent and dark. This is an inspiring story of success during adversity.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class mentions Helen Keller was once able to see and hear until an illness and fever made her blind and deaf. This class is filled with compassion, but your child should be made aware of this before class to decide if this is suitable for your child's emotional development stage.
External Resources
