My mother has turned her backyard into a certified wildlife area and has dedicated part of her garden for butterflies of different kinds. We started raising Monarch's from her garden and have now grown our own garden that has attracted Eastern Black Swallowtail butterflies. We may have different kinds of caterpillars depending on what time of year it is.
No homework, but there will be a printable workbook available that students can color on and complete. It is optional.
There will be a printable educational workbook available in the classroom. It is a 20+ page workbook including coloring pages, reflection questions and a 13 page scavenger hunt pack for finding and closely observing different butterflies in your neighborhood. It is not required to have it for class, however some students may have an easier time paying attention if they also have something they can draw on. Print only the pages you choose.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
