Student will learn the life cycle of a butterfly. We will discuss the stages of a butterflies life including the egg, caterpillar, pupa and butterfly. Students will then make a caterpillar our of construction paper. We will practice cutting in straight lines to make strips. The strips will then be used to create a circle. The circles will be loops together. We will make a butterfly using beautiful colors. They will be blending these colors to create a tie dye effect. The will practice folding to shape the butterfly. I will show the crafts step by step. We will do them together as we go. I will show the step multiple times to help the students create their beautiful crafts they way they want.

Coffee Filters Washable Markers Pipe cleaners Spray Bottle filled with water Green, red, and black construction paper Googly eyes (or black marker to draw eyes) Glue and/or stapler Scissors Not necessary but I do recommend a big paper plate or cover over the table while the student is making their crafts.
