Young wizards will be able to perform a totally mystifying trick with only 6 cards that even fools magicians. Yet, there is only one "special move", and it isn't really sleight of hand. Anybody can easily do it. No spectator can see it. I'll demonstrate the trick, then teach the method. Students will practice and get input from me. Time allowing, students may perform individually for others in the class. No previous magic skills are needed, but it is required that students can hold cards comfortably in their hands. As a bonus, students will learn how to make the trick interesting by way of how it is introduced and how it is "performed", not just done.

Teacher expertise and credentials
The magic classes I teach are for close-up magic with cards, coins, everyday objects and some special magic objects, too. I also include the very special and important "inner secrets" of magic. Misdirection, creating mystery and surprise, using special unseen and unknown set-ups and "moves", and sometimes simple sleight of hand are taught.
I've been a professional magician since 1972, performing for private parties, corporations, festivals and special events. I performed my own parlor magic show at a famous mansion for two years.
As a magic teacher, I've taught summer camps for the University of Minnesota's summer kids camps for more than ten years. I've also taught kids for the Twin Cities Magic Academy (an affiliate of Discovery Magic, a national magic business), for two Minneapolis Park programs, and taught private lessons.
My classes are about making magic amazing, making presenting magic about more than just fooling people. When spectators ask my students, "How did you do that!?", they really mean, "How in the world could you possibly have done that? That can't happen!" They say "Wow!" before they ask how.
Within the learning and performing of magic lies opportunities for growth in developing speaking skills, self-confidence, perseverance, politeness, reading for learning and a bit of theater.
My mantra for teaching and performing is "Magic is Fun for Everyone".
