In this class students will learn how to make slime. They will also hear a children's version of the story of The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. Time permitting, they will also color, draw or complete another craft, with instructions to be sent out before class. I will cover who Washington Irving was and the times in which he wrote. I will also cover, and demonstrate step-by-step, how to make the slime. I will introduce who Washington Irving was. I will demonstrate how to make the slime, as the students follow directions. We will see a powerpoint and hear the story, then, time permitting students will draw or color.My style is upbeat and encouraging. Learners will interact during the slime phase, as we discuss how our slime is turning out. I will also ask questions about the story. No experience is needed, but students must be able to follow directions, and listen to a story.

IMPORTANT! This recipe only works with TIDE brand liquid detergent and Elmer's white glue, although I believe you may substitute other white glue, the Tide detergent is the only one that has worked for me. For Slime: 1/2 cup Elmer's white school glue 1/4 cup TIDE liquid laundry detergent 1/2 cup water (food coloring or glitter optional)
