Description
Class Experience
In this class we will integrate science with art by examining the reason behind leaves turning different colors in the fall, and creating a colorful painting of leaves. During week 1, we will discuss the colors that leaves turn in the fall, and why. Students will draw or trace leaves in an overlapping design, using crayons in fall leaf colors. Homework may consist of finishing the drawing if it is not completed in class. During week 2, we will review the science discussed in the first...
As a veteran art teacher, I have successfully developed methods for helping children break down seemingly complicated drawing tasks into simple steps for successful drawing.
Students will need: pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener paper for practice (printer paper works well) heavy paper, such as Bristol Board or watercolor paper, 9X12 or 11X14 Crayola crayons (NOT washable!) watercolors (Crayola or Prang are best) a template for leaves will be provided just prior to the first class. This is optional for drawing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
